General

  • What does OOAK mean?
OOAK is short for One Of A Kind. It refers to a piece of jewellery or artwork that is completely unique and does not have any copies or duplications made of it.

  • What materials do you use?
Anything and everything! As you can see from both the Gallery and Shop I create drawings, paintings, jewellery, sculptures, woodwork, textile art, clothing and accessories. Pretty much the only materials I don't currently use are gold and fur from animals that have been killed specifically for the fur trade.

  • Do you use animal products in your creations?
Occasionally. Any product with animal parts will always be labelled very clearly as such. I try to use second hand materials (ie: sourced from charity shops), or those that have been lost naturally (ie: feathers collected from fields). If you have any concerns as to whether or not a product contains animal materials or where those materials came from please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • I really like one of the items you've already sold, will you create another?
That depends, if it is a OOAK item I can create something similar but will not replicate it exactly. Please contact me via the contact page if you have a query about a specific item.

  • Are you on any other sites?
Yes! You can also follow my work on Facebook where I post behind the scenes glimpses and works in progress as well as any new items that become available through the shop. There is also the occasional competition or giveaway.

Commissions

Do you do commissions?
Yes! Please use the contact page to send me details of what you would like and I will respond with a quote. The more details you can give me, the faster I will be able to provide you with a quote. For example, "I'd like a red, orange and yellow beaded bracelet done in a tribal pattern" will enable me to give you a quote straight away, whereas "I'd like a beaded bracelet" will mean I have to contact you for more details before I can calculate a quote for you. Details of what you should include in your contact form include but are not limited to-
What type of item you would like, ie: necklace/sculpture/painting
Colour scheme
Prefered medium or material, ie: watercolour/acrylic or bead embroidery/machine embroidery
Reference sheet/sketch/photograph for original characters (see below).

PLEASE NOTE: During busy periods there may be a waiting list for commissions. If this is the case you will be notified of the expected wait time along with your quote.

  • How long will it take to complete my commission?
Work will begin on your commission once I have received a deposit. Completion times vary depending on the complexity of the item you have requested. An estimate of completion time will be included with your quote. If you need an item to be completed by a certain deadline please include this information in your commission request and I will let you know if it is achievable.

PLEASE NOTE: Any changes you make to a commission once work has started may result in either a longer completion time and/or an additional charge being applied for extra materials.

  • When do I pay for my commission?
All commissions require a non-refundable 25% deposit before I begin any work. For commissions that involve having to source expensive or unusual materials this deposit may be higher to cover the purchase of these materials, if this is the case you will be advised of this when you receive your quote. You can choose to pay the full cost of the commission up front or pay the 25% deposit and then pay the remainder once the commission is finished.
Commissions will not be shipped until payment has been received in full.

  • Can my commission involve copyrighted characters?
Sorry, I will not take on any commission work that involves copyrighted characters. This includes characters from books, games and TV/films.

  • Can my commission involve original characters?
If the original character(s) belongs to you then yes I am happy to take on a commission involving them. Please provide me with either a reference sheet and/or detailed written description.

  • I've changed my mind and no longer want my commission, what happens now?
Once I have started work on your commission the deposit is non-refundable. Please bare this in mind when requesting a commission as this money is used to purchase raw materials and cannot be returned. In the event that you no longer want your commission or if you fail to pay for your commission within 6 months of completion I will then at my own discretion make the item available for purchase to the general public.

Payment

  • What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept payment via Square. Please do not send cheques or money in the post as I cannot guarantee these will reach me safely.

  • Do you offer payment plans?
All pre-made items must be paid for up front, I will not reserve stock items. Payment plans are available for Commission work however I will require a 25% non-refundable deposit before I begin the work and items will not be shipped until the payment has been received in full. If you require a payment plan please mention this on your commission form.
